YOUTH (by Samuel Ulman)

Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life.

Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite, for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of sixty more than a boy of twenty. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals.

Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.

Whether sixty or sixteen, there is in every human being's heart the lure of wonder, the unfailing child-like appetite of what's next, and the joy of the game of living. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station; so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long are you young.

When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at twenty, but as long as your aerials are up, to catch the waves of optimism, there is hope you may die young at eighty.

Follow Your Instincts...

Follow your instincts,
follow your heart,
it’s led you this far and
it will lead you to a championship.

Flower (by Kim, Chunsu; 1922-2004)

Until I spoke her name,
she had been
no more than a mere gesture.

When I spoke her name,
she came to me
and became a flower.

Now speak my name,
one fitting this color and odor of mine,
as I spoke her name,
so that I may go to her
and become her flower.

We all wish
to become something,
You to me and I to you
wish to become an unforgettable gaze.

Annabel Lee (by Edgar Allan Poe, 1849)

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me-
Yes!–that was the reason as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling–my darling–my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

'Closer'

We can find the definition of the world, 'love' in the dictionary.
However, is it correct?

Too many adjectives can embellish the 'love'.
After erasing the all adjectives, there is only one remained; 'truth'.
'Love' has only one, 'truth' and it's enough.

There is nothing that is impossible with 'love'.
In other words, everything is possible with 'love'.
'Love' has two faces.

Be sincerely,
be sincerely.
and be sincerely...

Wet Firewood

My heart that was very prudence toward you is restricted by you.
It made our separation, but I have no intension.

Like taking the sickness of heart, I love you without any reason.
I can not erase you, and I'm getting closer to you.
The only fault is that I gave my all heart to you.

I can not approach to you like a sinner, and we become stranger now.
My soul has no choice but to wait, like the wet firewood which doesn't want to be faded.

Blessed are the forgetful, for they get the better even of their blunders.

How happy is the blameless vestal's lot?
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
Each prayer accepted and each wish resigned.

Bye Bye...

I thought about our relation very carefully, after we met.
After 4 hours' thinking, I made a conclusion and maybe it will never be changed.
As I mentioned everyday, you're so kind, considerate, social, friendly, etc., in addition to your beauty and prettiness.
However, you have some points which are very different from me and very difficult to understand for me.
On my point of view, one should be faithful and has a clear conscience when one has his girlfriend (or her boyfriend). Be sincere.
One should be careful when he or she say something.
You know the maximum, 'there is no use of crying over the spilt milk.'
Someone will be hurt by your words.
And I don't want to receive the wound by you.
In my opinion, you're weighing me and him in the balance on a scale, "which guy is better for me?"
Perhaps, you said 'no', but I think so,
For my love, while meeting a girl, I'll and should act sincerely and show my fidelity to her.
I thought you were my perfect match, but not now.
From now, I wanna erase you and will find my another match.
And I wanna be a big tree which has a huge root.
The big tree, not move and not effect by others.
p.s. I'm very glad to meet you in Austin and thank you for teaching what love is.
I'll never forget everything on you, such as inpapi and ingel.
Take care and bye...
